Manor Xmas party 1960's
On the first photograph my mom is at the bottom left, Doris Rice (nee, Haddon), notice the bloke with the teddy boy hair style cut next to her, standing on the left of photo is Ted and rose Jilks or the name may be spelt with a 'G' Gilks moms not sure, at the top of the photo second from the right is the gaffer of the Manor at the time,is it Eric?,or Dennis?, I say this because mom realised there where two gaffer's she remembers as for one of the gaffer's by the name Eric (got to be that name' I wonder why?)and this could be the one, he was always having late stopover's and parties, but some of the residents who lived around by the pub had complained about the noise coming from the place in the late hour's of the night and early hour's of the morning,so he had to stop, and not long after this he left the place,as for the other peoples names mom cant remember,as for the photo '1960's 2' the man on the left of the Picture may well be the barman named Eddie,I maybe wrong here?, that I have met when I was having a point or two with my dad in the Foaming Tankard in Bloomsbury street as we were passing though Nechells in 1975, and as dad was having a chat with this bloke behind the bar and I said to my dad who's that then and he said it's Eddie who used to work in the Manor year's ago,to me his face looks familiar, the man at the front is Ted Jilks or Gilks.

Taken from behind the Bar, inside the Snug, my Mom, Mrs Rice standing in middle of open doorway, Nan Rice next to her wearing a Beret, Nan used to go there for her Stout and her Mackies, she knew everyone, I was outside with a vimto and a packet of crisps, struggling as usual to find the little blue bag.
